A family mediator is an individual trained in specialist techniques designed to help resolve disputes within the family and in particular in relationship breakdown.
In January 1999 a core group of experienced family mediators all working in individual practices throughout Sussex formed a company limited by guarantee, with a registered office in Brighton.
FMIS offers mediation on all issues to couples going through separation or divorce. The mediators accept referrals from solicitors, the court, various helping agencies and from couples direct. The aim of our company is to provide a professional and welcoming environment where the client’s needs and requirements are paramount.
Our team consists of seven mediators and our administrator. FMIS mediators are accredited members of the Family Mediators Association and members of the UK College of Family Mediators. FMIS has a franchise from the Legal Services Commission to provide publicly funded mediation.
The mediators Penny Dunne, Mary Field, Ian Garner, Sue Jago, Orla O'Hagan and Jayne Swanston work in outposts across Sussex at Chichester/Bognor Regis, Brighton, Crawley, Hastings, Worthing, Eastbourne, Haywards Heath and at an outpost in Tunbridge Wells. |
